Great, but disturbing, article. It’s hard to see how we put this particular genie back into the bottle. The failure of the mainstream to media to report on other that the self interested pulp it is fed has encouraged people to resort to their own, equally distorted but even more dangerous, echo chambers. The winners are those financiers who make their money from hate and division and war. The loser is society itself.
Would Starmer be as hopeless on social media as his dull platitudinous speeches are in the Commons?
Perhaps, stripped of the ponderous adenoidal timbre of his audio delivery and confined to fewer words, some brisk delivery on X would be a good exercise in comms for Starmer.
