Great article Sam! Exposing Reform’s Voodoo Economics is essential work! The other aspect which I think needs attention in the media is his views on the NHS. The hidden agenda could well be that privatisation of the NHS is the way to pay for these tax breaks for the wealthiest. Let’s see how well that goes down in the so called Red Wall seats!!!
Is this British fool, Farage, as opposed to our American fool, Trump, advocating for fossil fuel redemption primarily to assist foreign dictators, like Trump does, or is he just copying Trump's positions because he knows they work on morons?
Myself, I think people smart enough to get in positions like Trump and Farage aren't tools or fools. They are getting rich and powerful with oddly the same lies that help billionaire dictators like Putin and MBS grow their power. It ain't a coincidence.
Here in the US we don't have extreme libel and slander laws greatly restricting what people can say when trying to expose the truth about public official Rats like Farage and Trump. Even so, Trump still got elected. Why? The Right-wing owns the news media here in America.
Yep, Farage is another old public school tyke, who's not as rich as he thinks he ought to be & is prepared to say anything to anyone to get where he wants to go.
He won't "do anything" to get there - because he's bone idle.
He's the lovechild of Johnson & Trump, and the more people describe him like that, the less popular he will be.
That's really not an image I want in my head, never mind a picture of someone who ought to be left in charge of a whelk stall. Even in poor benighted under-represented Clacton.
Your article hits the spot. I’m having a problem with friends though who all insist, despite Reform being high in polls, that the average voter won’t actually vote reform when there’s an election because they aren’t stupid. Er, they seem stupid to me.
Sam, one problem is large parts of the left have spent 10 years laying the groundwork for a popular belief that it's possible for the government to borrow and spend vastly more than it does. Richard Murphy and others. Farage may well find a ready audience if he whispers in the right way.
A very clear piece of showing how populist economics is a fantasy and very very dangerous
Good to see this being taken seriously. They must be held to the same standards as the established parties.

That's my daily tirade. 😇

Is that Truss next to him? If so, enough said.

I thought ya’ll ditched him once before?!?!? But I am from America so I am not sure?
And for those who think Fartage's idea of an insurance-based health system is a good one, this is an essential read: https://open.substack.com/pub/thefiringline/p/the-unitedhealth-scandal-a-blueprint
You can’t be that bright if you think net zero will work.
Why won’t net zero work? Please explain.
Because renewables can’t power a modern economy. Just look at what’s happened in Germany.

OK sunshine about time you came up with your own ideas.
